چکیده

Fractional Erbium:Glass 1550nm laser is a fractional photothemolysis (FP) laser with high effectiveness in atrophic acne scars treatment. Recently, fractional bipolar radiofrequency (RF) has been introduced to improve the efficacy and reduce side effects of the FP. Objective: The objective of the study was to compare the effectiveness and side effects of fractional bipolar radiofrequency with fractional erbium:Glass in atrophic acne scar treatment. Materials and Methods: A randomized split-face clinical study was conducted. Twenty Thai subjects with atrophic acne scars received three split-face monthly treatments, one side with fractional bipolar radiofrequency, and the other with fractional erbium:Glass. The improvement of acne scars was evaluated by three independent physicians and patients at four weeks after the last treatment. The side effects were recorded after each treatment. Results: The study found significant improvement in acne scars after treatment with fractional bipolar radiofrequency and fractional erbium:Glass device without statistically significant difference between two devices. The side effects of both devices were pain, transient facial erythema and scab formation. The pain score of fractional erbium:Glass was higher than fractional bipolar radiofrequency but duration of scab shedding was shorter. One case had post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation on only the side treated with fractional erbium:Glass. Conclusions: The fractional bipolar radiofrequency and fractional erbium:Glass have similar effectiveness for atrophic acne scar treatment.

Comparison of Q-Switched 1064-nm Nd: YAG laser and fractional CO2 laser efficacies on improvement of atrophic facial acne scar*

BACKGROUND Acne scarring is treatable by a variety of modalities. Ablative carbon dioxide laser (ACL), while effective, is associated with undesirable side effect profiles. Newer modalities using the principles of fractional photothermolysis (FP) produce modest results than traditional carbon dioxide (CO(2)) lasers but with fewer side effects. A novel ablative CO(2) laser device use a technique...

Evaluation of the clinical efficacy of fractional radiofrequency microneedle treatment in acne scars and large facial pores.

BACKGROUND Fractional technology overcomes the problems of ablative lasers, such as inaccurate depth control and damage to the epidermis. Minimally invasive fractional radiofrequency microneedle devices allow for more-selective heating of the dermis. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the clinical efficacy of fractional radiofrequency microneedle (ERM) treatment in acne scars and large facial pores. MAT...

Comparison of a fractional microplasma radio frequency technology and carbon dioxide fractional laser for the treatment of atrophic acne scars: a randomized split-face clinical study.

BACKGROUND No studies have compared fractional microplasma radio frequency (RF) technology with the carbon dioxide fractional laser system (CO2 FS) in the treatment of atrophic acne scars in the same patient. OBJECTIVE To compare the efficacy and safety of fractional microplasma RF with CO2 FS in the treatment of atrophic acne scars. METHODS AND MATERIALS Thirty-three Asian patients receive...
